Keep Volusia County Beautiful became an official affiliate of the national organization, Keep America Beautiful Inc., and of the state organization, Keep Florida Beautiful, in 1998.
Keep America Beautiful is a nonprofit, public education organizations dedicated to improving waste handling practices in communities. The educational approach used results in behavioral changes that reduce litter and increase waste prevention and recycling by residents and businesses.
"In keeping with the practices of these grassroots organizations, Keep Volusia County Beautiful will rely heavily on an active volunteer base of businesses and individuals to help achieve a cleaner, safer community which provides a better quality of life for these residents," said Dennis Wooldridge, past chair of the group.
