125 HOMES IN GLENN ABBEY UNDER BOIL-WATER NOTICE
A precautionary boil-water notice is in effect 125 homes in the Glenn Abbey subdivision of
DeBary.
The affected streets are North Pine Meadow Drive, Soft Shadow Drive, Glenn Abbey Avenue, Knight Bridge Drive and Yorksville Place. Notices have been placed on the doors of the affected homes.
Utilities crews shut off water at 5:15 p.m. to make repairs on a damaged 10-inch water main. Water service was restored at 6:30 p.m., but residents are advised to bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute before using it for drinking, cooking or ice-making. It is not necessary to boil water for showering or other external uses.
The notice is expected to be removed after two consecutive days of satisfactory tests. However, customers should wait until they receive a rescission notice from Volusia County Water Resources and Utilities before resuming normal usage. Notices will be posted on the doors of the affected homes.
For more information, please call Volusia County Water Resources and Utilities at (386) 822-6465.
