CHILDREN AND FAMILIES ADVISORY BOARD HOSTS
WORKSHOP
The Volusia County Children and Families Advisory Board will host a
workshop from 3 - 5 p.m. Monday, July 28, at the Volusia County Health
Department, 1845 Holsonback Dr., Room 516C, Daytona Beach.
The workshop is open to the public and is being coordinated to offer
an opportunity for input to the 2009-10 consolidated funding application
for the County of Volusia and the United Way of Volusia-Flagler
Counties. Attendees will be asked to participate in one of three working
groups to discuss the administrative, program and budget sections.
Registration to attend this workshop is not required. A copy of the
2008-2009 application is available at
http://volusia.org/countycouncil/cfab.htm. Workshop participants
are asked to review the application and come prepared to present
recommendations.
The Children and Families Advisory Board assesses and evaluates
strategies to meet needs, monitors program compliance, advertises
funding availability, recommends appropriations for programs serving
children and families, and provides recommendations to the Volusia
County Council on children and family issues.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Florida
statutes, persons with disabilities who need special accommodation to
participate in the proceedings should request assistance at least two
business days before the workshop.
For more information or accommodation, please call Peggy Johnson,
children and community programs coordinator, at (386) 736-5955, ext.
