VOLUSIA FOREVER ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO MEET
JULY 16
The Volusia Forever Advisory Committee will meet from 3:30 - 5:30
p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the Votran Mobility Management Center, 950
Big Tree Road, South Daytona.
The board is scheduled to determine eligibility of 11 grant
applications. Members also will discuss funding of the small lot
acquisition program, the Volusia Conservation Corridor property, and the
committee’s process guidelines.
Completed Volusia Forever Land Acquisition program grant applications
for the first cycle of 2008 must be received by June 30. The deadline
for the second cycle of the year is Dec. 31. Applications are available
online at
www.volusia.org/forever.
Volusia Forever is a voter-approved initiative that authorizes a
property tax levy for 20 years to fund the purchase and improvement of
water resource protection, conservation and recreational lands. The
initiative will raise an estimated $191 million over the 20-year period.
The purpose of the advisory committee is to review grant applications
and make recommendations to the Volusia County Council.
